FAITH Dance Project Raises Thousands for American Lung Association, Long Island Asthma Coalition
The FAITH Dance Project, a series of ballet performances endeavoring to raise money for charity, successfully completed their first season of classes and performances, raising thousands of dollars for the American Lung Association’s Long Island Asthma Coalition. The project is an entirely volunteer effort, hosting classes and performances to heighten awareness of asthma on Long Island and raise funds for research.
The FAITH Dance Project recently welcomed donations through a benefit performance in New York City. On July 1st and 2nd, The FAITH Dance Project performed the well-received Stormy Weather, an eclectic mix of modern, ballet and jazz dance to America’s early jazz music.
The project is committed to developing awareness and money to support the fight against asthma in memory of Faith Floridia, a native Long Islander, whose dance career and life ended abruptly due to asthmatic complications.
The FAITH Dance Project has performed Stormy Weather at several senior citizens’ homes on Long Island and will continue to give free performances throughout the upcoming season.
